Email forwarders are useful for redirecting incoming emails from one address to another. In cPanel, you can easily configure email forwarders to manage emails and ensure they are sent to the right destination.
Steps to Set Up Email Forwarders in cPanel:
-
Log in to cPanel.
-
Under the Email section, click Forwarders.
-
Click on Add Forwarder.
-
In the Address to Forward field, select the email address you want to forward emails from. (e.g., info@yourdomain.com).
-
In the Destination field, enter the email address to which you want the emails to be forwarded (e.g., your personal email address).
-
Click Add Forwarder to save your changes.
Use Cases for Email Forwarders:
-
Multiple Aliases to One Email: Forward emails from different aliases (e.g., sales@yourdomain.com, support@yourdomain.com) to a single inbox for convenience.
-
Redirecting to a Secondary Email: Redirect emails from one address to another if you manage multiple email accounts.
-
Catch-All Forwarding: Set up a catch-all forwarder (using “*” as the address) to forward all emails sent to your domain to a specific address.
Things to Consider:
-
Email forwarders don't store the messages, they simply send them to another address.
-
Be careful when using a catch-all forwarder as it may result in an overload of emails or spam.
-
You can only forward emails to an address that already exists in your cPanel account. If the destination address does not exist, you'll need to create it first.
