21. How to Set Up Email Forwarders in cPanel Print

  • 8432

Email forwarders allow you to automatically forward emails from one address to another. This can be useful for managing multiple addresses (e.g., sales@yourdomain.com to info@yourdomain.com) or if you want to have emails from one account forwarded to a personal email address.

Steps to Create an Email Forwarder in cPanel:

  1. Log in to cPanel.

  2. Under the Email section, click on Forwarders.

  3. Click Add Forwarder.

Setting Up the Forwarder:

  1. Email Address to Forward: Select the email account you want to forward emails from (e.g., sales@yourdomain.com).

  2. Destination Email Address: Enter the email address where you want the emails to be forwarded (e.g., info@yourdomain.com).

  3. Click Add Forwarder.

Managing Forwarders:

  • To remove a forwarder, simply click Delete next to the forwarder you wish to remove.

  • You can also edit the destination email address if necessary.

Why Use Email Forwarders?:

  • Centralized Management: Forward emails from different addresses (e.g., support@, sales@) to a single inbox for easier management.

  • Redirect Emails: Automatically forward emails to an alternate address if your primary account is unavailable or to a different department.

  • Prevent Spam: Forward emails from one address to another, keeping your main inbox cleaner.

Important Notes:

  • Forwarder Limitations: If you are forwarding emails to an external server (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo), make sure the destination server accepts incoming emails from your domain to avoid email rejection.

  • Catch-All Forwarder: Setting up a catch-all forwarder will allow you to forward any email sent to a non-existing address (e.g., anyname@yourdomain.com) to a designated account.
